Add Site with Bespoke Model

Adding a Site using a User Drawn Model can be broken down into seven major steps:

  1. Create New Site
  2. Fill in General Information
  3. Choose Model Type
  4. Upload 3D Model
  5. Set Default View and Thumbnail
  6. Create BBL Structure
  7. Assigning 3D Objects to BBL
Note: Mandatory fields are marked with an ‘*’. The following steps assume that the user is already logged in to the CMS.

Create New Site

Steps to create a new Site
  1. Go to the Site icon.pngSite tab.
  2. Select Add.pngADD NEW. Go to Fill in General Information.

  1. Fill in the necessary fields (E.g. Site Name, Description, Country, Address etc.).
  2. Add Geolocation (optional):
    1. Select Geolocation.
    2. There are two ways to select location:
      • Search:
      1. Use the Search.pngSearch function to look for the specific location.
      • Drop Pin:
      1. Drag the map to the required location.
      2. Select "EDIT".
      3. Drop pin at the site location on the map.
      • See Tip and Note (below).
    3. Select 'OK' to add geolocation. This will automatically update the country of the site but not its address.
  3. Select "NEXT". Go to Choose Model Type.
Tip: Subsequently, the pin can be dragged to different positions on the map.
Note: For subsequent changes, the displayed address will not be automatically updated. The Use address.pngUse Address button must be selected to update the address.

  1. Choose Bespoke model type.
  2. Go to Upload 3D Model.

Steps to upload 3D Model to build Site
  1. Select "Choose file" to select and upload a 3D building model Zip File.
  2. Select SUBMIT (top right corner) to add the Site.
  3. Once the 3D model has been processed, further action will be prompted.

  4. Go to Set Default View and Thumbnail.

Steps to add Site's default view and thumbnail
  1. Select Edit.pngEdit beside the site you just created.
  2. Select the Warning set default.pngwarning at the top of the screen.
  3. Set the site’s default view.
  4. Set the site’s thumbnail (optional).
  5. Assign Objects to BBL (optional).
  6. Add 2D Floorplans for each level (optional).
  7. Select "SAVE" or "SAVE & EXIT" (top right corner).

Create BBL Structure

Steps to add BBL (Building)
  1. Select Edit.pngEdit beside the site you just created.
  2. Select MODEL tab
  3. Select Edit Building/Block/Level
  4. A default building called Main Building has been created by the system. If you require more than one building, you can add more by clicking on ADD NEW BUILDING.
  5. To edit the building's name, just click on the building's name. After editing, click SAVE to update the building's name.

  6. To delete the building, just click on the BBL Delete.pngDELETE button beside the building name.
  7. To create the blocks under each building, just click on the BBL Next.pngNEXT arrow button beside the building name.
  8. A default block called Main Block has been created by the system. If you require more than one block, you can add more by clicking on ADD NEW BLOCK.
  9. To edit the block's name, just click on the block's name. After editing, click SAVE to update the block's name.

  10. To delete the block, just click on the BBL Delete.pngDELETE button beside the block name.
  11. To create the levels under each block, just click on the BBL Next.pngNEXT arrow button beside the block name.
  12. To return to the previous listing, click on the BACK arrow button beside the BBL breadcrumbs. BBL Back.png
  13. Repeat steps 8 to 10 for every building in the BBL.
  14. A default level called Level Name has been created by the system. If you require more than one level, you can add more by clicking on ADD NEW LEVEL.
  15. To edit the level's name, just click on the level's name. After editing, click SAVE to update the level's name.

  16. To delete the level, just click on the BBL Delete.pngDELETE button beside the level name.
  17. Repeat steps 13 to 15 for every block in the BBL.
  18. Select "SAVE" (top right corner) after you have finished creating the BBL structure.

Assigning 3D Objects to BBL

Now that we have created the BBL structure, we can proceed to assign objects to each building, block and level.

  1. To do so, go to the level listing in the BBL, and click on the BBL Next.pngNEXT arrow button beside the block name you want to assign objects to.

  2. First, you will need to define the level extent (vertical space where the level will extent to, from floor to ceiling). To do so, you can either:
    1. Fill in the floor position and ceiling position under the Level Extent section, if you have the information. Or,
    2. Select the floor 3D object for the level, and click on Update from Selected to update the floor position based on the selected 3D object's position. Repeat the same step for ceiling 3D object for the level.

  3. Under the Object Visibility section, click on HIDE button beside Outside Level Extent to hide objects outside of the level extent.

  4. Select all the objects belonging to this level extent. To select multiple 3D objects in the 3D scene, you can:
    1. Select one by one, by CTRL + Click on each object.
    2. Use the Select Button.pngSelect tool, and draw a rectangle encompassing the objects to be selected.
